FAQ
Is each piece really one of a kind?
Yes. Every piece is thrown or built and carved by hand, so no two are exactly alike. The piece you receive is the one shown in the photos, unless the listing says it is made to order.
Is your pottery food safe?
Mugs, bowls, plates and serving pieces are finished with food-safe glazes. A few decorative pieces, like some vases, are not meant for food, and their listings say so.
Is it dishwasher and microwave safe?
It depends on the piece. Each product page lists whether that piece is dishwasher safe or microwave safe. See the Care Guide for more tips.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes, for some designs. Custom plates and personalized pieces are made to order. Send me a note through the Contact page with your idea and I'll let you know what's possible.
How long does a custom order take?
Made-to-order pieces usually take about 2 weeks before they ship. I'll confirm timing when we talk about your order.
Why does my piece look a little different from the photo?
Handmade pottery has natural variations in glaze, color and shape, and screens show color differently. These small differences are part of its character.
Can I include a gift note?
Yes. Add a gift note at checkout and I'll include it for free.
How do you pack pottery?
Every order is wrapped and double-boxed with plenty of padding so it arrives safely.
What if my order arrives broken?
Send me photos of the item and the box within 7 days of delivery, and I'll make it right with a replacement or a full refund. You won't need to send the broken piece back.
What is your return policy?
You can request a return within 7 days of delivery. The buyer pays return shipping, and custom pieces can't be returned. See the full return policy for details.
Do you sell wholesale?
Shops interested in carrying my work are welcome to reach out through the Contact page.
Where can I see new pieces first?
Join the email list on the homepage. New pieces go to the list before anyone else. You can also follow along on Instagram at @outerreefceramics.
